ARMOR Initiative LLC is Hiring an Administrative Assistant (SkillBridge) Near Baton Rouge, LA

The ARMOR Initiative DoD SkillBridge Internship is an approved SkillBridge Program under the Department of Defense Instruction (DODI) 1322.29 as enacted by 10 U.S.C. Sec 1143. Eligibility is restricted to members of the U.S. Armed Forces separating honorably with greater than 180 days of continuous Active Duty. SkillBridge period of eligibility is within the final 180 days of Active Duty service, and the SkillBridge must be completed prior to separation from Active Duty in the U.S. Armed Forces. HireMilitary DoD SkillBridge/CSP is open to members of all services, and all ranks and experience levels. Service members should fully review SkillBridge Position Description for individual opportunity requirements and qualifications.
SkillBridge participants participate in full time training with industry (40 hour work week) under military orders and are not eligible for compensation from ARMOR Initiative or it’s partner host employers but will continue to receive all military wages and benefits for the period of the DoD SkillBridge enrollment.

DoD SkillBridge is fully compliant with FLSA, DBA, SCA, CSHSSA and all other pertinent Federal and State labor laws.

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant in Baton Rouge, LA. As an Administrative Assistant, you will support our healthcare professionals and contribute to the delivery of quality healthcare services. Your role will be crucial to the maintenance of patient care and satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Manage patient appointments and schedules
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as answering phones, filing records, and data entry
  • Ensure medical records are properly maintained and updated
  • Manage patient billing and insurance claims
  • Provide excellent customer service and patient care
  • Proficiently utilizes Microsoft Teams and Office Suite products to maintain seamless communication and keep the medical review team informed of the status of all projects.
  • Carries out administrative duties such as electronic filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.
  • Process new claims and claims decisions from record requests through administrative law judge proceedings
  • Gather and compile clinical records for timely submission to contractors using clinical software programs
  • Communicate with clients and customers to obtain required documentation to complete clinical records
  • Communicate with insurance companies and contractors on claims/claim status
  • Ensure documentation is received by the contractor by the established due date and followed up on in a timely manner
  • Remain compliant with HIPAA & Confidentiality policies/procedures and stay up to date with training
  • Ensures operation of department, placing supply orders as required
  • Use problem solving skills to identify, investigate and resolve department issues
  • Assists other departments as needed, ie. human resources, recruiting
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
  • Associate Degree in Education, Associates, Business, Medical, Medical Billing, General Education, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare
  • At least three years of administrative experience in the healthcare setting
  • Experience in working with third-party resources such as Medicare, Medicaid and Private Insurance, Contract Health or Coordination of Benefits, medical records, reception and patient registration (required)
  • Proven experience as an office administrative assistant with demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Outlook Excel, Word, Teams) and Adobe
  • Prior appeals management experience (preferred)
  • Prior human resource experience (preferred)
