We are looking for a HSE Manager

Provide leadership and direction to drive continual improvement and the achievement of HSE goals and to provide direct plant support to AMTB U.S.A facilities in the implementation and management of the AMTB HS&E Management System, the identification of risk, and the control/prevention of occupational injury, illness, or property loss. Also, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements; therefore avoiding potentially significant monetary penalties, through direct assistance with plant and Corporate personnel in areas such as environmental permitting, industrial hygiene assessments, ergonomic assessments, risk assessments, aspects/impacts analysis, problem analysis/troubleshooting, decision-making, and interpretation of applicable legislation. Lead the resolution of non-compliance issues. Complete and drive HS&E-related cost/benefit analysis on workplace projects/improvements. Participate with Director of Operations in the establishment of annual strategic goals for their plants. 

Accountabilities:

• Continue to improve HSE Performance at Detroit facility - reach set HSE goals for 2023
• Develop an Environmental Strategy to improve AMTB Americas Environmental Footprint and ensure business sustainability (economic, social and environmental).
• Improve usage of unsafe acts/condition reporting system in Detroit.
• Implement HSE Management System, 33 Corporate Standards
• Recognize employees who either suggest safety improvements or are pro-active in HSE at our facilities." Improve HSE Communication
• Heath & Safety Committee meetings
• Monthly Townhall meetings
• Safety PDCA Facilitator
• Part of Corporate HSE Audit team
• Part of AMTB Safety Sustainability Team
• Completes HSE section for Detroit Month End Reviews
• Ensure HSE Regulatory compliance for the Detroit facility
• ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification
• Coaching/mentoring Detroit plant management teams responsible for the management of HS&E within their area of responsibility
• Analyze HS&E-related statistical data and assist the facility in developing action plans to address deficiencies and present these findings in written reports and presentations to management
• Develop, maintain and facilitate covid-19 governance. In partnership with management, develop the process and ensure compliance with OSHA ETS
• Maintain list of employees covid cases, exposures and work with HR to maintain medical documentation

Skills, Requirements, and Personal Traits:

• 5 years of experience working within a Manufacturing Environment as a Safety Specialist, HSE Supervisor/Manager, and/or EHS Supervisor/Manager
• Bachelors Degree strongly preferred
• Experience working with a Manufacturing Environment – Preferably Automotive
• Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-up skills
