AmeriCorps Urban Safety Program (Jefferson East Inc. Wayne State University's Center for Urban Studies)
The program aims to enhance public safety through crime prevention initiatives (block club building, providing safety items free of charge to residents, and support safe routes to school) and to reduce victimization through educational leaflets, home safety assessments and target hardening. The program aims to create healthier futures with supporting parents of children with elevated blood lead levels, offering water filtration filters in action level exceedance communities, and by identifying risk and offering interventions to make their home healthier.
