AmWINS is seeking an adaptable, driven, and detail-oriented individual to join our CST Operations team as a Surplus Lines Tax Team Program Manager. This role will oversee a team of Client Services Specialists working together to provide centralized support for our Access underwriting teams. The Access Surplus Lines portion of the team handles tax filing for non-admitted transactions. This individual will be required to learn and develop various skills that will assist this team in improving quality and efficiency, increasing automation, and strengthening the foundation to support continued growth.

  • The Surplus Lines Tax Manager will work directly for the Senior Manager of Surplus Lines and be responsible for overseeing KPIs, identifying opportunities for improvement, executing these opportunities, and documenting results and decisions. The Surplus Lines Tax manager will be responsible for ensuring that departmental updates are cascaded to the team as needed. They will be responsible for executing best practices and escalation trends that can be leveraged in training for the team. The expected results for success in this role are being a subject matter expert of the dedicated team.

The Surplus Lines Tax manager must have great attention to detail and problem-solving skills and build best practices for future growth and success.

As a valued Surplus Lines Tax Team Program Manager with our firm, you will help to develop new and imaginative processes and procedures while performing in this role. This position requires on-the-job training that will provide a collaborative and exciting team-focused environment. Joining AmWINS as a team member with the CST Operations Team will offer the opportunity for advancement as the department grows swiftly beyond its initial stages.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team and ensure they are meeting deadlines and completing work timely.
  • Implement performance management strategies to drive productivity and efficiency.
  • Set clear expectations aligned with overall team and individual goals
  • Monitor and drive performance; implement strategies for better efficiency and goal achievement.
  • Support the development and monitoring of departmental goals to ensure the achievement of set goals.
  • Review workflow and queues daily to ensure KPI adherence and standard work.
  • Utilize critical thinking and root cause analysis practices to provide solutions to meet business needs.
  • Ability to manage and measure productivity and performance and understand established metrics.
  • Identify best practices for the teams including reporting metrics, expectation development and management, and meeting cadence.
  • Monitor performance and report issues to management as needed.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on creating and updating standard operating procedures for the team.
  • Oversee recruitment and dismissal processes.
  • Oversee the team's metrics and performance while analyzing trends and opportunities to meet goals and targets to maintain service agreements.
  • Ability to gain or possess an understanding of company policies and procedures.
  • Become a subject matter expert of your service.
  • Approve timecards weekly as well as monitor and coach schedule adherence.
Requirements:

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
2-5 years of experience in People Management required.
  • Proven success in working with cross-functional parties and all levels of management.
  • Flexible, people-oriented, and able to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to execute at high quality on assigned tasks within stipulated timelines.
  • Demonstrate advanced skills and experience communicating action plans within various levels of internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and oversee the implementation of Surplus line protocols that align with all platforms.
  • Ability to learn systematic processes quickly.
  • Applied strong MS Office skills including Excel and other Microsoft 365 tools required.
  • Strong comprehension, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to partner with the Regulatory compliance team to ensure all legal practices are compliant.

Preferred

  • Surplus Lines Tax and industry knowledge preferred.
  • Applied strong MS Office skills including Azure, Visio
  • Knowledge of SLIP, Optins, and Incipher systems a plus.
  • Ability to travel if needed.
