This position is for a local LA hire.

About the Position:

The People Operations Coordinator is a hands-on representative for the Human Resources department whose role is to help facilitate all fundamental Human Resources functions. The People Operations Coordinator provides exceptional administrative support to the Human Resources team and all faculty with a general knowledge of all areas of HR, including but not limited to benefits, compensation, recruitment, HRIS, and employee relations.

Pay; $20-$22/ hourly 

What you Will Do:

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Answers to frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation and onboarding.
  • Schedules and organizes appointments which may include candidate interviews, UA testing, and TB testing.
  • Processes required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, status, salary increases, terminations, and other related employment matters.
  • Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
  • Assist the Human Resource Manager with complex and specialized administrative tasks or projects.
  • Process forms and or claims such as but not limited to verification of employment, EDD forms/claims, garnishments, and child support orders.
  • May assist with the preparation of Human Resource reports such as attendance, new hire, and turnover reports.
  • Reset system passwords.
  • Participate in meetings and group sessions as required.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED, two (2) years of experience in a Human Resources role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP a plus:
