AMERICAN EXCELSIOR is Hiring a Remote Sales Manager

SUMMARY
The Sales Manager will oversee and lead the activities of the Sales Department. Reports to Division Director of Sales
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides leadership to the sales team.
  • Motivates and encourages sales team to ensure quotas are met.
  • Works with sales and operations teams on growth strategies, customer challenges, costing and
pricing.
  • Develop good working relationships with vendors to help promote new products and minimize cost.
  • Assist with the development of innovation and new products.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project sales,
determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets.
  • Identifies and analyzes customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.
  • Assigns territories and sets quotas for sales teams.
  • Consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggests equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs.
  • Resolves customer complaints, staffing problems, and other issues that may interfere with
efficient sales operations.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop sales quotas and strategies.
  • Prepares sales budget; monitors and approves expenses.
  • Acts as company representative at trade association meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Hires and trains regional and local territory managers and staff.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules, territories, and performance of regional and local sales territory managers.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Manages discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, Business Administration, or related field, or 5 years
of comparable record of sales leadership experience required.
  • A minimum of three years of sales experience required.
  • Experience with Sales Force, CRM, or AI Sales tools preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical principles to assist in developing pricing and margin strategies, budgets, forecasts, measurement and specification interpretation, review, and development.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to analyze and interpret a variety of technical information or instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.
