Description ABOUT A.C.T. American Conservatory Theater is an essential gathering place that brings artists and communities together to inspire and provoke. Position Purpose : Our Bartenders primary purposes are to rapidly and efficiently serve A.C.T. patrons, visitors, students and staff during performances or catered special events, and to champion A.C.T.s efforts in providing a warm, equitable and inclusive experiences for anyone in our spaces. Our bar staff play an integral role helping to set the tone for a positive and supportive culture among the Audience Services team.
Responsibilities :
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

- Selling beverages and snacks, most generally during pre-performance and fast-paced intermission times, in addition to a variety of events that may occur around or outside of performances.
- Well preparation, stocking and cleaning at by shift.
- Accurately manage a bank, completing per-shift reporting.
- Manage and accurately communicate use of inventory per-shift.
- Be available for a minimum of three shifts per week, including regular evening and weekend work, as well as infrequent, but occasional weekday morning work.
- Providing guests with exceptionally warm, efficient and equitable experiences.
- To resolve patron/visitor issues, leveraging solid de-escalation practices, with warmth and authentic care.
- To align with behavioral policies designed to promote an inclusive and diverse culture.
- To undergo training to understand and demonstrate how we promote an actively;
- Anti racist;
- Anti sexist;
- Anti homophobic;
- Anti transphobic and;
- Anti Abelist culture within our spaces.
- To raise opportunities for improvement, issues and ideas for resolution with a collaborative and forthcoming approach.

Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications or Basic Qualifications - Demonstrated skill in understanding of cultural differences.
- Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with A.C.T. colleagues and stakeholders.
- California RBS Certification
- Experience in concessions service environments
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- Experience working in a theater, live event venue, audience management, or large-scale events settings.
- Demonstrated customer service experience where de-escalation, empathy, strong verbal and listening skills were exercised.
- Training/Certification in Food handling, Alcohol Management, Event Safety, First Aid, CPR and AED knowledge are a plus
Physical Requirements Must be able to respond quickly both mentally and physically in order to handle competing requests, complaints, emergencies and other high pressure situations that might arise. Agile up and down staircases. Able to lift at least 35 lbs (stocking, moving tables, chairs, etc.). Ability to see well while moving in a dimly lit space. Ability to assist others physically in an evacuation scenario.
