CIAO! We are Johanna, Micah and Andrew, and collectively we represent Ama. Thanks for taking a moment to read a little bit more about us. 

Ama encapsulates the Northern Italian lifestyle with its all-day dining concept, evolving from a cozy caffè in the mornings to an indoor-outdoor aperitivo bar in the afternoons, and finally transforming into a captivating restaurant at night. Guests are greeted with a transportive environment, regardless of the time of day. Evoking the romanticism of Italy, our ethos revolves around well-being, rooted in simplicity, slower living, and cherishing the present moment, all fundamental to our Italian heritage. We prioritize using whole, minimally processed ingredients sourced from conscientious farmers, resulting in dishes bursting with remarkable flavors. This approach yields a menu that is satisfying and memorable, yet never excessive, a quality our guests crave whether it's a casual Tuesday lunch or a festive Saturday night celebration.

Ama is currently in search of enthusiastic people who resonate with embracing the Northern Italian lifestyle. While international travel and experience is always a plus, it is in no way a requirement. What is a requirement is passion. A passion for food, beverage, service, hospitality, making people happy, and most of all: Restaurants. Ama is a restaurant by people who LOVE restaurants. The good, the crazy, the laughs, the chaos, the organization, the weeds... All of it. And we are looking for people that feel the same way. Ama’s name stems from the poem 'Ama e fa ciò che vuoi', a profound work that encapsulates the essence of living with love as a guiding principle. It beautifully reminds us that when love directs our actions and intentions, we find true fulfillment and purpose in whatever we choose to do. 

Our Lead Pastry Cook, or “pasticcere”, position works primarily at night, for approximately 45 hours a week. 

QUALIFICATION SKILLS & STANDARDS

• Lifts and carries sacks, boxes & products up to 50 lbs. from floor to above waist level.
• Performs job at a continuously high pace, under pressure, while maintaining quality and a sense of urgency.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Can properly sweeten without refined sugar (we have none in house)
• Works closely with other staff members, often in close areas.
• Setting up and breaking down stations for service
• Taking onus of your station like it is your own kitchen
• Flexible in performing other related tasks designated from management
• Able to work at approx. 36” table/stove and reach in approx. 36”.
• Must be able to reach (6’ to overhead), as well as bend and stoop
• Must have experience and knowledge of kitchen equipment.
