Allpoints Surveying is seeking a skilled CAD Solutions Architect to join our growing team in Houston, TX. The CAD Solutions Architect will play a vital role in the development and customization of AutoCAD software solutions, contributing to the efficiency and precision of our design and drafting processes. As our CAD Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring that our software applications meet the unique needs of our projects and clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborates with various departments to understand programming needs.
• Develops and customizes AutoCAD software solutions using programming languages such as AutoLISP, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), or .NET.
• Creates custom AutoCAD commands, tool palettes, and scripts to automate repetitive tasks and streamline drafting processes.
• Troubleshoots and debugs AutoCAD programs to ensure they function correctly and efficiently.
• Maintains and updates existing AutoCAD programs and scripts as needed.
• Documents code solutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.
• Participates in design and drafting projects as required to apply and test customized solutions.
• Provides training and support to CAD users to ensure effective utilization of customized tools and features.
• Stays up to date with the latest AutoCAD software releases and features to leverage new capabilities for improved productivity.
• Provides technical support and training to colleagues on AutoCAD programming and scripting techniques.
•  Assists with custom reporting and database management.

EDUCATION/EXPEREINCE

• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a programmer (or similar roles) is required.
• An associate degree or equivalent two-year college or technical school experience is preferred. 
• Proven track record of successful AutoCAD customization projects.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
• Familiarity with other CAD software and design tools is a bonus.
