Director of Human Resources (HR)
Aevum was founded to democratize on-demand access to any destination, including space. At Aevum, taking care of our people is the responsibility of the entire company - not just the HR department. We are one (small, yet mighty) team. Aevum is seeking an in-house, Director of Human Resources (HR), who has significant HR leadership experience at a corporation, ideally successful startups, in the tech, space, aerospace, or finance industry. The HR Director is a thought leader and will serve as a strategic business partner to Aevum senior executive leaders and company affiliates.
As the Director of HR, you will help build organizational capability to meet both strategic and financial goals. You will provide leadership and be responsible for creating and implementing high performance people, cultural, and organizational strategies and solutions that result in fully engaged employees, superb managers and leaders, excellence, and an amazing workplace.
You will oversee and ensure all compliance to state and federal regulations as well as internal policies, processes, procedures, and functions.
The HR Director provides support to the senior management as requested and reports directly to the Founder/CEO of Aevum. The ideal candidate is academically astute, a thought leader, and relentlessly focused on mission success. This is a fast-paced, director-level career position.
Aevum is a startup and our timelines are aggressive. Our HR Director will be asked to work hard, including nights and weekends, as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide expertise, best practices, and consulting for all HR areas including, but not limited to, employee engagement and retention, workforce planning, talent acquisition and development, succession planning, performance management, compensation planning, change management, and more.
• Quickly onboard new hires, in support of formal or informal initiatives, ensuring that new hires are ready to crush tasks day one.
• Support senior leaders to make talent decisions and resulting organizational performance.
• Provide insight, thought leadership, coaching and training as necessary to improve organizational effectiveness and performance.
• Support company leadership relationships by continually assessing the needs of the firm based on employee engagement, productivity, and performance.
• Proactively solve challenges and spot issues in HR areas.
• Serve as the in-house expert on HR best practices, trends, and benchmarks to optimally position the company for success.
• Oversee, perform, and/or ensure compliance, workforce development, training, payroll.
• Mentor and coach employees as necessary to elevate their performance.
• Strategize, plan, and budget annual and quarterly objectives; develop and track KPIs.
• Own the company relationships with external partners, including city, state, and federal government partners.
• Own recruiting channels, including university and career talent programs or other recruiting opportunities.
• Work closely with senior leaders to support employer brand strategy, voice, style, and employer channels to reach the top talents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum: Bachelor's degree in business, psychology, organizational behavior, communications, human resources, or related field
• At least 6 years of HR experience
• Demonstrated trustworthiness and credibility across all levels of a corporation
• Demonstrated success at a successful startup or strategic agility, business acumen, and ability to get things done
• Critical problem solving skills
• Demonstrated prior success leading high impact teams and organizations and initiatives
• Significant experience navigating nuanced cultural and business sensitivities with tact and discretion
• Incredible organizational change and cultural transportation management skills
• Unquestionable integrity and trustworthiness
• Ability to develop solution to complex HR and organizational challenges
• Absolutely amazing interpersonal skills

• Member of SHRM
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. US citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• SHRM-CP certification a plus
• Prior experience with ATS, such as Greenhouse, is a plus

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• As needed, must be willing to work extended hours, nights, and weekends.

Compensation

$87,257 - $113,628 - $140,000
