Hight Logistics is Hiring a Human Resources Assistant Near Long Beach, CA

Hight Logistics is a growing company at the forefront of the zero-emissions trucking industry. We are looking for a motivated HR professional to join our team to assist with crucial aspects of HR processes, reporting to the HR Manager.

Job Summary:

The Bilingual (English/Spanish) HR Assistant supports human resources functions through administrative and technical assistance in the areas of onboarding, offboarding, recruiting, employee training, internal HR email inquiries, digital files and process refinement. The HR Assistant works on site to assist our employee base in-person and facilitate a welcoming environment and positive company culture.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Onboarding

o Be the first point of contact for arranging employee’s first day

o Give office tours and ensure equipment setup in advance

o Assist with onboarding documentation

o Maintain employee training platform including assigning, tracking and documenting progress to ensure organizational compliance and safety

o Run background checks

o Explain benefit options and connect employees with resources as needed

o Keep hiring packets up to date

Recruiting

o Screen resumes

o Complete Reference checks

o Maintain job postings

Other:

o Maintain digital files

o Conduct monthly audits on insurance billing

o Attend HR trainings for professional development and CA law training

o Assist with timekeeping and reporting to payroll

o Complete employment verification letters by request

o Complete routine offboarding steps including equipment return, email communication and interfacing with payroll

Special projects:

o Develop employee recognition programs

o Assist in transitions to new infrastructure through research, testing and launch

o Improve, create and document SOPs when necessary

o Assist in internal events planning and executing to support company culture

o Assist in benefits open enrollment

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Proficient in written and spoken English and Spanish preferred

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Experience with handling sensitive and confidential data

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Ability to prioritize tasks

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

· Willing to learn and become the expert on our virtual platforms and software

Education and Experience:

· Associates, BA or certification in Human Resources preferred

· SHRM or SPHR preferred

Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour
