Advanced Personnel Resources, Inc. is Hiring an Accountant Near Greensboro, NC

Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking an experienced Accountant for a new opening with our client located in the Piedmont Triad.

The Accountant position is responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and cash application, Payroll, and supporting the monthly close and reporting process. The ideal candidate will have the ability to analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure that accounting transactions comply with General Accepted Accounting Principles. The position provides financial information that is relevant, accurate, and reliable, processed in accordance with GAAP and will require over time.

Direct Hire: 55-70K annually

Hours: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm (with overtime at the end of the day when necessary)

  • Full employee benefit package including medical, dental, LTD/AD&D, and 401(K)

Accountant Key Responsibilities include:

  • Perform cash application duties for incoming payments for client and a sister Company.
  • Record and reconcile cash daily
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute periodic Accounts Receivable reports
  • Assist in management of Accounts Receivable past due items, including contacting customers
  • Receive and review invoices, verifying that they comply with organizational policies and are approved for payment
  • Enter invoice amounts into the accounting system and process check runs, ACH and wire transfers, or other forms of payment
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors and researches/resolves concerns or discrepancies
  • Ensure that mandatory and voluntary withholdings and deductions are accurately calculated and reported for Payroll
  • Transmit payroll files for processing
  • Complete new hire setup in payroll systems
  • Prepare and distribute labor analysis and headcount reports
  • Responsible for supporting the monthly financial close process including preparation and recording of journal entries
  • Keeps records of account entries by compiling and analyzing accounting activities
  • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts and follow up on reconciling items
  • Responsible for assisting in the analysis and proper recording of monthly expense accruals
  • Ability to work with other departments throughout the organization
  • Assist in making process improvements related to closing, financial results, quarterly reviews, systems, internal controls, etc.
  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed

Accountant Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum two years’ experience in general accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • ERP systems experience strongly preferred; QuickBooks and SAP Business One exposure/experience a plus
  • Excellent/advanced Excel spreadsheet and graphing skills; strong formatting and presentation skills
  • PowerPoint – strong working knowledge would be a plus
  • Team-oriented, analytical, detail-oriented, practical and positive/can-do
  • Ability to be flexible and accomplish a wide variety of tasks
  • Organized and adheres to timelines and deadlines
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
