The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for investment accounting, investment portfolio management, monthly preparation and review of the 5310 regulatory report; assisting in generating accurate period ending financial statements; monthly board and ALCO financial reports; and the compilation and monitoring of financial data and maintenance of databases to support financial management activities within Vizo Financial. 

This full-time position is primarily work from home and can be based out of one of our four campuses. Candidate must reside within commuting distance of campus. This position is remote however may need to go into the office to attend mandatory meetings, required training or cultural events as needed.

Requirements

The Position: The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong working knowledge of financial and regulatory reporting, accounting practices and experience working in the investment or financial services industry.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the accurate and timely input of all Vizo marketable securities and other investments maintained on a third-party investment accounting platform, including submission of trade information.
• Accurately monitoring and posting all principal and interest payment payments when received from third parties. Monthly posting of trades, principal and interest, amortizations and accretions, accruals, unrealized gains/losses as received from third party investment accounting provider to accounting general ledger. 
• Enter trades (purchases/sales/free deliveries/etc.) into FHLB Access and monitor for settlement.
• Oversee Investment Portfolio Management System Management system to monitor policy compliance.
• Approval of daily wire requests to maintain target balances, cover trade settlements, etc.
• Monitor pledged securities to adjust available credit as needed.
• Support of Financial Monthly Closing process by, making journal entries, completing or reviewing reconciliations, and generating financial reports.
• Preparation of monthly reporting for internal use, board reporting, and regulatory purposes, including monthly preparation of NCUA Regulatory Call Report. 

Seeking candidates with:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university.
• Five or more years experience in accounting or related field.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Outlook, Office 365, Word, Excel), general internet knowledge, web presentation software (WebEx, Zoom, etc.)
• Familiarity with Tableau and SQL databases is a plus

Salary Range: Starting at $72,000, dependent on experience

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Travel requirements

Some travel is required with this position. Travel may be out of state and/or require flying. The employee may be required to drive a vehicle to and from campus locations.
