Medical Scribe/Medical Assistant needed for a busy, fast paced neurology clinic in Fort Collins, CO.

This is a full time position: Hours are Tues-Friday from 7am-5pm. Mondays off

Essential Functions:

Dictate notes for provider, includes history of present illness, treatment plan outline, and physical exam findings when communicated from provider

Attend all visits with provider, assist in location and display of diagnostics (labs, MRIs, medical records, etc.)

Send referrals and new prescriptions when instructed by provider in visit

Intermittently assist with patient procedures

Communicate with provider regarding dictation/scribing preferences and needs

Listen carefully to detailed instructions

Act as a secondary Medical Assistant as required by:

• Check in patients for physicians to examine: obtain basic vitals, update and verify patient medical information
• Refill prescriptions per physician protocol
• Assist with patient calls/questions/concerns (assist other MAs from the same provider)
• Triage/send time sensitive/specific patient questions to provider and relay response back to patients
• Order necessary lab work, imaging, referrals, etc. as directed by provider
• Upload faxed results/records to patient chart for provider review
• Obtain prior authorizations as needed for patient prescriptions and procedures
• Maintain a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfecting equipment, exam rooms and storage areas using appropriate measures

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED

Past work history in the medical field may be accepted as equivalent qualification

A background in anatomy/physiology/medical sciences etc.

Basic medical terminology experience

Minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute

Experience with EMR/Epic

Dependable and flexible

Able to multi-task efficiently in a fast paced office

Preferred:

Prior scribe experience preferred

Previous neurology experience preferred

Experience with EMR - EPIC

Certified Medical assistant

Additional education and experience may be substituted for certification.

BLS/CPR certification
