Medical Assistant needed for busy, fast paced neurology office in Longmont. Commuting to Fort Collins will also be required but this will not happen often.
This is a full time position. Hours are Mon-Thurs 7am to 5pm. We are closed on Fridays.
Essential Functions:
Check in patients for physicians to examine: obtain basic vitals, update and verify patient medical information
Assist physicians with procedures
Return patient phone calls in a fast and timely manner
Refill prescriptions per physician protocol
Obtain prior authorizations as needed for patient prescriptions and procedures
Assist with answering incoming calls and triage appropriately
Maintain a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfecting equipment, exam rooms and storage areas using appropriate measures
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Previous experience as medical assistant or CMA
Must be a team player with an outgoing personality and positive attitude
Dependable and flexible
Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills
Able to multi-task efficiently in a fast paced office
Past work history in the medical field may be accepted as equivalent qualification
Minimum typing speed of 60 wpm
Preferred:
Experience with EMR - EPIC
Certified Medical assistant preferred
Additional education and experience may be substituted for certification.
BLS/CPR certification
Previous neurology experience preferred
