Accel BI is Hiring a Business Analyst Near Seattle, WA

We are seeking a Business Analyst - IT Solutions to join our team for a large-scale Information Technology project that requires the services of an expert-level Information Technology Business Analysis (BA) practitioner.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and rules directly from stakeholders and domain experts.
  • Organize and lead meetings with business leadership and teams to capture and assess business needs from stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), converting these insights into agreed-upon product scope and specific product requirements.
  • Conduct sessions to gather, specify, and validate current and future business processes and rules.
  • Develop IT Pre-Project Scoping Statements (PPSS) to aid in the resource planning efforts of TSD management.
  • Implement relevant regulations, policies, and standards such as the Revised Code of Washington (RCWs), OCIO Policies, and ETPMO Standards & Practices in determining product scope with clients.
  • In collaboration with the project manager and according to the project’s development or acquisition approach, elicit, analyze, and document detailed business processes and requirements.
  • Utilize requirements management tools like Sparx Enterprise Architect or Jama to document and analyze business processes, creating both current and future state business workflows, IT capability reviews, business rules, and glossaries for IT project team use.
  • Produce and maintain essential IT documentation such as system context diagrams, use case diagrams, system use cases, and domain models.
  • Oversee and manage the product scope and requirements for designated IT projects, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs and business goals.
  • Classify and prioritize requirements in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Establish and document baseline requirements for the business and secure business endorsement of product requirements.
  • Coordinate with IT project teams to obtain approval of product requirements and oversee the fulfillment of these requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
  • A Business Analyst, with a focus on IT business requirements gathering, business process analysis, and data analysis within large-scale software application projects.
  • Formal education equivalent to university-level training in business analysis.
  • At least 3 years of expert knowledge and hands-on experience with the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) framework, including the creation and maintenance of its deliverables.
  • A minimum of 8 years of comprehensive experience in process mapping, workflow modeling, conceptual and logical data modeling, business rules modeling, use case modeling, scope management, as well as requirements elicitation and management.
  • Technical experience (minimum 8 years) supporting application development, database administration, or data modeling, including design, development, testing, and implementation of diverse IT systems.
  • Proven ability to conduct requirements elicitation and interviews across a broad range of stakeholders, from front-line employees to executive-level staff.
  • Familiarity with requirements management techniques, such as traceability matrices.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Visio.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with requirements management software, such as SPARX Enterprise Architect or Jama, is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A current International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Certification or a current certification as a Project
  • Management Institute - Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA).
  • Experience in implementing Cloud-hosted business process migration in Software as a Service (SaaS) implementations utilizing Google, Amazon, or Microsoft cloud hosting technologies.
  • Certification as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Experience in the creation of business requirements for Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitations.
