Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will work closely with students who have special needs, providing support and assistance in their educational journey. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with diverse learning abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Assist students in developing academic, social, and life skills
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction as directed by the teacher
- Support students in classroom activities and ensure their safety and well-being
- Assist with behavior management strategies and interventions
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Utilize specialized equipment or assistive technology to support student learning
- Monitor student progress and document observations as required
Skills:
- Experience working with students, particularly those with special needs
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Proficiency in math concepts and ability to provide math support to students
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain a productive learning environment
- Familiarity with deaf education or ability to communicate effectively with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Ability to educate and engage children of various ages and abilities
- Understanding of literacy education strategies and techniques
- Experience in toddler care is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
