This is a 10 month (school year) position paid hourly. Designs for Learning is an educational consulting firm supporting Charter Schools and Non Profits in the state of Minnesota. Our Special Education team supports over 30 charter schools in the Twin Cities Metro and surrounding areas. We are looking to add another school psychologist to our team for the new school year. Primary Responsibilities (not inclusive):
General oversight activities include the following:
· Provide special education and administrative consultation for the organization in problem solving special education and related issues, and over-all management of the special education programs.
· Provide consultation regarding mandated policies as they relate to students with disabilities who receive specialized services.
· Provide staff development and training on child find, Due Process for general ed and special ed, instructional practices, behavior interventions, materials, technology, and equipment
· Participate in IEP, evaluation summary, child study, manifestation determination and other due process meetings, upon request
· Organize the Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEAC)
· Assist in communication with the MDE regarding special education fiscal monitoring visits, compliance and assistance due process monitoring visits, Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), responding to directives, and development of a Minnesota Continuous Improvement and Monitoring Process.
· Assist with parent and family meetings to resolve disagreements
· Assist with formal complaints and dispute resolution process
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
The ideal applicant will be a Minnesota Licensed Director of Special Education with 2 to 4 years of experience. Experience as a Special Education Coordinator will also be considered.
Special Skills:
Familiarity with Microsoft office programs, ability to learn SpEd Forms and computer scoring programs for assessment tools.
