Abrasive Technology is Hiring a Chief Human Resources Officer Near Lewis Center, OH

Position Description:

Abrasive Technology is searching to fill the role of Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO). The CHRO will be responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. The CHRO provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team and the board of directors.

This will be a transformational role driving the company beyond compliance to best-in-class quality performance and is a strategic part of the growth ambitions of the company.

Essential Responsibilities

Shape Strategy:

  • Effectively links HR and talent strategy with business strategy.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.

Inspire and Influence:

  • Helps set a clear direction for the organization and establishes a compelling vision and culture that motivates, inspires, and engages employees.
  • Utilizes their strong working knowledge of all HR functions to provide guidance and leadership to the human resource management team.

Build Talent & Teams:

  • A motivational leader with an inclusive workstyle who is able to step in and lead a global, high performing team to achieve excellence in all they do. Builds and grows future leaders for the organization and helps design and evaluate career paths.
  • Participates in and facilitates professional and organizational development.

  • Identifies key performance indicators for the organization’s human resource and talent management functions; assesses the organization’s success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the HR department.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
  • Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
  • Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Drafts and implements the organization’s staffing budget, and the budget for the human resource department.
  • Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with human resource information systems (knowledge of BambooHR preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least ten years of human resource management experience required, with strategic, talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
