ABM US is Hiring an Operations Manager Near New York, NY

Annual Salary: $65,000.00 US Dollars
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program.

SHIFT HOURS: 24/7 365 on call for Port Authority as needed.

Position Details:
Operations Manager is responsible for the direct oversight of shift managers, supervisors, and front-line employees on his or her designated shift. Employee is further responsible for ensuring that productivity levels and customer service requirements are being met and that supervisors and front-line employees are complying with all safety, quality, and compliance standards established by the Company, by our clients and by regulatory authorities. This Operations Manager will oversee Airport location Bus Fleet Operations, Shuttle Services and Dispatch Operations. Manages all supervisors in the Transportation, Bussing/Shuttle area with 75 front line staff per shift per supervisor. Manage dispatchers and Drivers as well.

Essential Duties: 

  • Manage all lines of business: Bus Fleet Operations Shuttle and/or Dispatch Operations
  • Monitor and maintain staffing levels with the assistance of the local Human Resources Department and payroll.
  • Abide by and ensure adherence to established policies, rules, procedures, and regulations of the Port Authority as applicable at the Airport.
  • Accommodate increased / decreased client staffing requests.
  • Foster deep and meaningful relationships speak with our clients frequently to discuss outstanding issues, concerns, and opportunities.
  • Inspire and motivate others to do well.
  • Ensure we meet financial targets through effective scheduling and time management.
  • Deliver world class training programs that ensure your team members remain attentive to each passenger’s personal needs.
  • Work closely with our Safety/Quality team to execute a vigorous metric-based safety, quality, and security program.
  • Manage daily schedules.
  • Manage and assist with weekly payroll for supervisor and drivers.
  • Maintain communication with Shift Managers/Supervisors to maintain optimum staffing levels.
  • Effectively coach, counsel, and discipline employees.
  • Work with Safety Quality Manager to ensure the safety and security of the operation.
  • Set positive, professional example for workforce.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with passengers, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Comply with all safety, security, compliance and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control the work required of all Contract staff assigned to the On-Airport Ground Transportation Service at the Airport.
  • Represent the Contractor at meetings, as may be directed by the Manager, which concern the operation of the Contract at the Airport.
  • Investigate all customer complaints and forward findings to the Airport Manager.
  • Review all records and reports and take necessary action directly or through Supervisors to correct errors and improve the efficiency reliability of the Service.
  • Be responsible for analyzing operational activities in order to develop procedures to improve service. In those cases, where Authority action is required, the Operations Manager is expected to submit recommendations and suggestions for Port Authority consideration and implementation at the airport.
  • Perform a weekly reconciliation with Port Authority airport staff of billable hours.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • Manages all supervisors in the Transportation, Bussing/Shuttle area with 75 front line staff per shift per supervisor. 
  • Manage dispatchers and Drivers as well.

Qualifications – Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of customer focused experience
  • 5 years of management
  • 3 years of budgeting and expense control and scheduling
  • Proven ability to manage groups of 75 .
  • Leadership personality, client facing.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to monitor and manage various shifts.
  • Excellent communication
  • Driver’s license (CDL BP -must be willing to obtain within six months)
