Title: Operations ManagerProgram: Support and Connection CenterSalary: $68,000 Program Overview:The Support and Connection Center provides 24/7 short stay, engagement, stabilization, and treatment services for adults with mental health and/or substance use issues referred directly by NYPD as an alternative to the traditional police responses of arrest, summons, or transport to an emergency room. Their infractions are non-violent, low-level offenses, including loitering, trespass, public inebriation, and disorderly conduct. Our goal is to help participants begin to identify and modify the behaviors that result in repeated police contact. There will be an OASAS licensed outpatient clinic on-site that will provide services to eligible guests. The maximum length of stay is 5 days.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Under the general direction of the Program Director, with the widest latitude for independent action and decision making, the Operations Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the building operations and support services; performs related work. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Provides day to day guidance to the Operations of SCC to Rehabilitation Aides, Rehabilitation Aide Supervisor and Building Maintenance staff in collaboration with the Building Manager in the delivery of direct guest services. Ensures that established operational procedures are followed to provide a clean, safe and secure environment for both clients and staff. Regularly tours the interior and exterior of the building to make sure conditions are in accord with established standards; initiates corrective action if necessary.Ensures that required Incident Reports are prepared and submitted to Project Renewal in a timely fashion, providing all relevant information and documentation as soon as possible following the incident.Monitors the implementation of the Emergency Plan which includes conducting required fire drills once a month; maintaining the records to have current certificates for Fire Safety Wardens, and scheduling staff for training as needed.Assists the Assistant Program Director and Program Director in compiling information and documentation needed to respond to formal client grievances/legal claims.Collaborates with City Beats Kitchen in dietary items ordering, inventory, and various culinary procurement on a weekly basis for the dietary needs for SCC guests. Provides individual and/or group supervision to Rehabilitation Aides and Rehabilitation Aide Supervisor.Performs a continuous assessment of staff training and team building needs for Rehabilitation Aides and Building maintenance departments.Works in collaboration with the Office Coordinator to maintain facility inventory of client supplies, ensuring that SCC maintains optimal operational inventory levels. With the Quality Assurance Coordinator and PEQA department, monitors program performance on internal/external audits and implements corrective actions. Provides direct weekly supervision to the Rehabilitation Aide Supervisor and Building Manager.Collaborates with the behavioral health team leader to establish and train staff in procedures to respond to behavioral health emergencies.Available to respond to program emergencies on a 24/7/365 basis, especially after normal work hours and on weekends.Other duties as assigned by the SCC Program Director.Qualifications: Education RequirementsA Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, and work experience as stated in item 1 below, orTwo years of college and work experience as stated in item 2 below.Fire Safety Coordinator F-80 within 90 days of hire. Experience RequirementsA minimum of three years experience supervising the delivery of services to homeless individuals in a shelter, supportive housing, or substance use services environment.A minimum of three years of experience working in a shelter, supportive housing, or substance use services environment; one year of the required experience. Preferred Skills: Must have a commitment to consistently promoting and supporting staff in the delivery of trauma-informed careDemonstrated ability to motivate professional and support staff to work cooperatively to provide high quality servicesDemonstrated ability to respond to crises and/or support and empower staff in crises as appropriateDemonstrated ability to work with complex program structures and model effective collaboration Must be able to perform in a high-pressure environment, set and meet deadlines, and delegate as appropriate Excellent oral, writing, and listening skills and an ability to effectively communicate with staff and guestsKnowledge of case management software as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. All newly hired Project Renewal staff must provide verification of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
