Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This role involves performing inspections, conducting tests, and implementing quality control procedures throughout the production process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quality assurance principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in and lead the investigation of customer complaints and quality-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
  • Identify and document any defects, discrepancies, or non-conformities, and collaborate with relevant departments to address and resolve issues.
  • Create, review, and maintain quality control documentation and records, including test reports, inspection logs, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Conduct inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions as needed. Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
  • Perform quality control tests and measurements using various tools and equipment.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and consistency. Including the creation of new quality standards and practices.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Familiarity with quality control techniques, statistical analysis, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.

Experience

  • 2 years of proven experience working in a quality assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, or similar field a plus.
  • Certification in quality assurance or a related field is preferred.

Other Requirements

  • Physical- This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
  • Travel- This role may travel up to 15% and is required to visit other company locations, job sites, and vendors.
