JR286 is Hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist I Near Torrance, CA
JR286 is seeking a dynamic Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Torrance, CA. This role is responsible for performing a range of accounting tasks related to the accounts payable function. This generally includes receiving, processing, and verifying invoices, vendor set up, tracking and recording purchase orders, and preparing payments.
What You'll Do:
- Work collaboratively with the Accounts Payable Lead
- Control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, reconciling invoices, and statements
- Assist in preparing payment journal entries in our accounting system (Oracle)
- Research and resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation/records
- Call and/or e-mail correspondence to vendors & suppliers as necessary
- Collect Form W-9 for new vendors and banking information
- Seek approvals from appropriate managers on invoices
- Responsible for Freight and Duty tracking and processing of invoices
- Assist with month-end reconciliations as required
- Other duties as assigned
What to Bring:
- Minimum 2-3 years in Finance or Accounting
- Basic knowledge of accounting payable functions
- Prior experience with an ERP system is a plus (Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, SAP)
- Ability to utilize independent judgment in establishing the accuracy and reasonableness of information
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work cordially with people of diverse backgrounds in the organization
- Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to successfully resolve and manage conflict
