About Us: Spherion is searching for a tenured full-time Payroll Specialist for an opportunity in the north Ormond Beach area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable company and perform rewarding work. The ideal candidate is a team player, that has proven payroll processing and benefit reconciliations experience. Hours will be Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.

Main Responsibilities:

• Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP payroll software.
• Verify accuracy of timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies.
• Calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings, including taxes, insurance, and retirement contributions.
• Input and maintain employee data in ADP payroll system, including new hires, terminations, and changes in status.
• Generate and distribute payroll reports, including tax filings, payroll registers, and employee earnings statements.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related matters in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Assist with audits of payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Reconcile benefit statements for accuracy and submit for payment.
• General accounting duties as needed. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, with specific experience using ADP or similar payroll software.
• Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred but not required.
