Description

Job Description:

Safeway Tax Relief is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage our financial operations and contribute to the fiscal health and compliance of our organization. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in accounting principles and a proven ability to handle complex financial data.
Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency in payroll processing and preparation of quarterly 940 and 941 tax returns for the business.
  • Accounting Operations: Manage all aspects of accounting including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and revenue recognition.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide accurate financial information to management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Manage tax planning and compliance tasks for income tax filings.
  • Financial Management: Oversee cash flow and ensure the availability of funds for operations.
  • Process Optimization: Evaluate and optimize financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Strategic Analysis: Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and enhance business performance.
  • Budget Collaboration: Work closely with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets and manage expenses.
  • Payroll Oversight: Collaborate with HR to ensure proper funding for approved payroll submissions.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in payroll processing and preparation of quarterly 940 and 941 tax returns for the business.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical behavior in managing confidential financial information.
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, with the ability to work well in a collaborative setting.
