Job Title: Assistant Director of Human Resources

Job Function: The Assistant Director of Human Resources is best summarized as a generalist role that will focus on talent acquisition, orientation, onboarding, UKG Pro administration, and benefit and wellness administration for the national office. This position will work closely with departmental hiring managers to manage the talent acquisition needs within assigned business units. In addition, this position will be the primary contact and tactical lead for the Post-Graduate Intern Program.

 Job Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition

  • Manage full-cycle talent acquisition process to include outreach, sourcing, interviewing, relocation, new staff member orientation and onboarding.
  • Consult with hiring managers on staffing needs, assist with developing competency-based job descriptions for open positions and update and maintain job description repository.
  • Provide daily talent acquisition and staffing support to hiring managers and hiring teams.
  • Develop inclusive candidate sourcing strategies, and actively monitor and maintain sources and networks.
  • Coordinate and provide logistical support for the internal and external recruiting and hiring process.
  • Facilitate the day-to-day relationship with managed service provider partner, to provide contingent labor strategy and support to the national office.

HRIS/Benefit System Administration

  • Administer employee health and wellness plans, acting as liaison between employees and service providers, and troubleshoot and resolve benefits-related concerns to ensure effective use of benefit plans.
  • HR systems oversight and administrator. Responsible for the day-to-day administration and oversight of UKG Pro and benefits enrollment system (PlanSource). Ensure data is processed accurately and timely for incoming, current, and exiting employees. Troubleshoot system errors and/or failures to gain resolution.
  • Tactical liaison between human resources and payroll, ensuring organizational/ system structure changes are updated and processed in a timely manner.
  • Plan and facilitate new staff member orientation and quarterly onboarding.
  • Oversight of PlanSource, benefits data base. Annual preparation for open enrollment ensuring all changes are accurately captured and entered into HRIS. Oversee the administration of this database.
  • Metrics and analytics- Provide reporting and analytics on HR KPI’s to be shared with leadership and HR team. Work with HR leader to analyze metrics and determine data-driven insights about the national office.

Benefit & Wellness Administration

  • Strategize, plan, and implement NCAA wellness program including the direction and oversight of annual health fair event, and strategic programming/coordination with wellness vendor to address annually identified risk factors to positively impact health plan performance and cost.
  • Coordinate, schedule and facilitate new employee benefits enrollment sessions, including preparation and distribution of all benefits-related documentation and materials.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all benefit plan vendors including Anthem, Mutual of Omaha, HSA Bank, Fidelity Investments, HRPro, LHD, Community Hospitals, ARAG and WebMD.
  • Assist the Director of HR in the daily administration of other HR services as directed or assigned, including talent acquisition, reclassifications, promotions, transfers, contract negotiation and administration, FLSA/EEO compliance, job classification, performance evaluation, and employee relations in accordance with quality management principles and overall objectives of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Education Required High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of human resources policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Estimated Travel Required <10%
  • This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Current work environment is hybrid; 3 days in the office and 2 days are remote.
