Description

The Driver position needs to drive a combination tractor-trailer unit. Pickup, safely transport and deliver customers product as scheduled. Comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations/laws and all policies/procedures of Tradition Transportation Company, LLC

Responsibilities:

• Deliver freight to customers as ordered in a courteous, safe, and professional manner
• Operate a tractor-trailer unit over required routes to scheduled pickups and deliveries, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Maintains accurate and legal drivers record of duty status (logbook)
• Performs pre-trip and post trip inspections as outlined FMCSR
• Communicates with Operation via phone, satellite or in person as needed to provide up to date statues information as required.
• Prepares necessary paperwork for daily operations of the truck, such as, but not limited to Bill of Ladin, Fuel/Mileage reports, delivery receipts, and repair orders.
• Paperwork must be submitted in compliance with company policies/procedures and federal regulations.
• Responsible for proper care/control of company policies, procedures, and federal regulations.
• Responsible for all load securement and arrangement to ensure legal transportation of the customers goods. Driver will be required to obtain scale weights in accordance with company guidelines.
• Research and plan the most practical and safest route for each trip.
• Responsible for fueling the truck and minor maintenance (as necessary).
• Clean out and prepare trailers for loading and unloading as needed.
• Load and unload freight as required, utilizing forklifts, pallet jacks and other manual means as indicated.
• Handle supply papers, counts freight, and verifies contents of load, paying special attention for the presence of any hazardous materials.
• Submits all paperwork in accordance with company policy.
• Comply with company operations, maintenance, safety, and support services policy.
• Report all crashes and incidents to the Safety Department immediately.
• Report and/all delays to schedule resulting from breakdowns, weather, traffic conditions, or other emergencies/irregularities relating to scheduled pick ups or deliveries to their assigned driver manager immediately
• Performs other incidental or related duties as required.
