Job Title:Part-time Clinical Science Professional (Entry – Intermediate Level) (0.5 FTE)

Job Summary:

The Department of Family Medicine is looking for a part-time (0.50 FTE) Clinical Science Professional to join the Helpers Stay Quit Research team. This team focuses on smoking cessation, specifically, relapse prevention in recently quit smokers. The team’s research considers the impact of personal social networks on smoking cessation motivation and relapse prevention. This position assists with day-to-day operations of the clinical trial including phone contact with potential subjects to confirm eligibility and obtain informed consent. This position will be hybrid with flexible working hours to include a couple early evenings and Saturday hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with and oversee the day-to-day operations of clinical trials and studies.
  • Reviews research protocol inclusion/exclusion criteria and confirms eligibility of subject to participate in clinical trial.
  • Perform informed consent process or ensure that the informed consent process has occurred, is properly documented, and that informed consent form documents are filed as required.
  • Interview prospective subjects for a variety of research clinical trials. Educate potential subjects on the details of the studies through phone contacts and personal interviews.
  • Schedule subject participation in research clinical trial.
  • Adhere to research regulatory standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of studies to ensure compliance with requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), study protocols, department, hospital/clinical standard operating procedures, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in subject recruitment efforts, including communicating with patients expressing an interest and all pre-screening/screening activities.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 1 day per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Entry Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Intermediate Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • One (1) year clinical research or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field
  • One (1) to two (2) years of clinical research or related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Colorado’s health care delivery system.
  • Knowledge of basic statistical/analytics principles relevant in health care research and/or policy analysis.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems and apply qualitative and/or quantitative analytical approaches.
  • Familiarity with agile project management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with Teams, Zoom, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research and policy analysis protocol information.
  • Commitment to advancing health equity in Colorado communities.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this part-time 0.5 FTE position has been established as:

Entry Level: $23,872 - $27,930

Intermediate Level: $25,978 - $30, 394

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
