Located in downtown Denver, Colorado, the Auraria Campus is home to three institutions of higher education – University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Community College of Denver – both MSU and CCD are Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI), and CU Denver is finalizing its HSI designation. The Associate Director is responsible for the development of the evolving vision and direction of the functions and services specifically related to the Collection Management and Discovery division. Responsibility of this area’s portfolio includes Collection Development and Strategies, Discovery Systems and Metadata, and Special and Digital Collections. The Associate Director also provides inclusive leadership through decision-making for library-wide planning, personnel decisions, budget allocation, resource management, organizational effectiveness, program and policy development, as part of the Library Cabinet, and in collaboration with the Department Heads group.
The Associate Director demonstrates skill in collaborating with individuals and groups within and beyond the library, across the campus, and in the broader regional and library professional communities; has strong organizational skills; and the ability to work both independently and as a team leader and member. The individual in this role should possess experience managing academic personnel and have demonstrated collaborative team-building skills, including the ability to motivate and mentor others, and to support diverse ideas, cultures, and experiences.
Finally, the Associate Director should be committed to fostering an equitable educational environment and workplace and will respond effectively to changing campus needs and priorities. This position reports to the Director / University Librarian.

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $95,000-$100,000 additional annual administrative atipend of 10% of base salary".
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is/is not eligible for overtime compensation.
