Hexagon Asset Lifecycle Intelligence is Hiring a Remote Director, PMO (Remote - US)

Responsibilities

Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division (Hexagon) is seeking a PMO Director for our Americas region. In the role, the selected candidate will be responsible for the overall project management function, strategy and leadership, and the management of PMO processes and outcomes to improve the consistency and efficiency of project delivery. This individual will also be responsible for providing oversight and direction to all project management office personnel, and thus is accountable of the resulting quality of each project.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Define and execute PMO strategy aligned with regional and functional growth strategy with clear goals, deliverables, and targets
  • Ensure value creation evidenced by improved results such as revenue generation and a sustainable margin
  • Define, change, and execute PMO target operating model (TOM) designed to execute on the strategy
  • Deliver strong project governance and execution assurance processes
  • Consult with leadership to understand strategic goals and to properly align project resources in support of those objectives
  • Lead the design and implementation of a common project management methodologies, standards, and tools to drive and facilitate the successful management of the function and delivery of projects in the Americas Services team.
  • Act as a mediator for internal issues and conflicting priorities for members of cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing solutions to clients 

Main Activities:

  • Managing the Business
    • Provide budget analysis, labor planning, and coordination of activities between client and company personnel
    • Monitor and analyze project and services performance in conjunction with the Managers, Project Managers and Coordinators
    • Work with Sales and Presales teams to ensure effective scoping, estimating, and expectations are set in Pre-Sales Phase
    • Ensure resource plans are established across the portfolio to ensure successful delivery
    • Promote consistent application of project standards and processes by conducting individual project audits at key points in project schedules
    • Prepare Customer Feedback and establish customer satisfaction levels in the Americas region
    • Manage and maintain the Regional Project Server and PMO SharePoint Site
  • Changing the Business
    • Identify improvement opportunities and update, change processes, capabilities, and roles and responsibilities to execute improvements
    • Collaborates with other department leaders to define, prioritize, develop, and execute internal projects/programs to meet corporate objectives programs
    • Improve the consistency, predictability, and efficiency of the project delivery artifacts
  • Talent Management
    • Support, mentor, develop, and train the Project Managers and Delivery/Project Coordinators
    • Set and manage performance expectations aligned with regional strategy and goals
    • Manage recruitment process, skills matrix, role profiles, and succession planning to ensure resources meet business needs
  • Reporting
    • Create concise, informative, and meaningful management reports to highlight project issues and progress
    • Analyze the overall effectiveness of Services delivery across the portfolio and identify and mitigate areas of risk
  • Communication
    • Coordinate with the other Hexagon ALI PMO’s to ensure consistency of processes and procedures and tools
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, impacting how the organization sees the value PMs provide

Qualifications

  • Previous / current experience as a PMO Director within a software organization
  • Successful track record in managing and delivering projects
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on project management experience in a software organization
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing large, complex projects for external clients
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing people and teams
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and resource management
  • Demonstrable experience in problem solving
  • Strong leadership and people management skills

  • Fluent in English
