ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Essential Functions:

1. Assists with maintaining an accurate inventory of MIRC materials.
2. Properly shelves books in their designated locations according to the MIRC (KLAS) organizational system. This may involve sorting books alphabetically, numerically, or based on specific categories.
3. Assist with picking, packing, and shipping of textbooks and instructional materials in response to requests.
4. Daily pickup and delivery of books and materials to the MSB mailroom.
5. Using KLAS assists with receiving APH equipment.

Marginal Functions:

1. Performs other duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS:

Equipment Used: Computer, scanner, high-density mobile shelving, and shipping carts.

Performance Standard: Must ensure accurate, timely shipping and reshelving of materials 100% of the time.

Work Environment: Standard office conditions with overhead fluorescent lighting, 70-80 degree air temperature, and available window ventilation. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Work Schedule: 22.5 hours Tuesday through Friday (8 am – 2:30 pm); flextime or additional hours are required on an infrequent basis.

Pay Range: $18.71-23.74 per hour, commensurate with education & experience, in keeping with Grade 2 of MSB's Non Exempt Administrative Scale.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. General knowledge of computer operations and software applications, data entry, and keyboarding.
2. General knowledge of customer service concepts and human relations skills.
3. Experience with email order systems or inventory control preferred.
4. Valid Maryland motor vehicle operator’s class C license.
5. HS Diploma or GED required.
6. Must be at least 18 years of age.

After six month in this position, the employee is required to have:

1. Comprehensive knowledge of IRC computerized inventory/circulation system.
2. General knowledge of IRC operations, packing, shipping and receiving procedures, and the School’s organizational structure, policies, and procedures.
3. Basic knowledge of computerized Braille production.
