2023 See Beyond Festival Volunteer Opportunities

• Are you looking to support a great cause and be part of an exciting event?
• Were you part of the inaugural event last year and had so much fun you want to return?
• Do you need a way to earn service hours for school? 
• Looking for a volunteer opportunity for your work team? 

If so, The Maryland School for the Blind' is hosting its 2nd Annual See Beyond Festival on Saturday, April 29th from 10am to 3pm - rain or shine, and we'd love to have you there!

The See Beyond Festival challenges the community to try a variety of immersive experiences and activities while wearing light blocking eyeshades! See how our students learn and understand the importance of accessibility and inclusion. Help teach the community to see beyond disabilities and showcase that blind and low vision individuals are people who may see less, but not do less. Be empowered!

Volunteers are needed:

• Saturday, April 29th - Set Up (8am-10am)
• Saturday, April 29th - Shift One (9am-1pm)
• Saturday, April 29th - Shift Two (12pm-4pm)
• Saturday, April 29th - Break Down (2pm-4pm)

Opportunities exist to help in various capacities:

• Sports Area - assisting with blind sports activities (beep baseball, soccer, lacrosse, sprint track races, goalball); these activities could include running, walking, and bending
• Kid Zone - assisting with crafts and activities
• Taste Tests - assisting with blind food tastings
• Art Zone - assisting with tactile arts & crafts
• Makers Market - assisting vendors with unloading in the morning and loading up in the afternoon

This is a great opportunity for High School students needing service hours, college groups, community partners, and more!
