The Electric Way is Hiring an Administrative Intern Near Colorado, CO

Job Description:

The Electric Way is a local, family-owned company that values excellent customer service and relationship-building above all else. We are looking for high school or college students who are eager for an opportunity to understand the inner-workings of a small business, improve their customer service skills, and gain experience in an office setting.

The Administrative Intern will be on the front lines of communication with customers, including phone calls, text messages, emails, and online platforms. In order to be successful, this person must be able to stay organized, toggle between communication methods seamlessly, problem solve effectively, and demonstrate outstanding communication skills with customers and team members.

In addition to the administrative duties, this role offers a unique opportunity to identify areas of interest to be further developed through one-on-one guidance and mentorship. These areas could include marketing, finance, IT, communication, HR, or any of the other skills involved in operating a small business.

This internship is designed to be a stepping-stone in a career path, and, therefore, will be reopened for new candidates each semester (approximately every 4-6 months).

Requirements:

Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to be in the office two business days per week (7am-4pm)

Tasks include:

Answering phones
Communicating through various online platforms
Scheduling appointments through internal dispatch software
Data entry
Conflict resolution and solutions-focused communication with customers and team members
Ability to give full attention to customers with the goal of helping them and making them feel heard, while also considering the best interests of the company and its technicians
Coordinating with community partners, such as local utility and permitting organizations
Providing administrative support to technicians as needed
Any other self-selected areas of interest
