POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day activities in the planning, coordination and preparation of the operating budget to ensure conformity and compliance with prescribed regulations and standard procedures. This position is responsible for the development, calculation and coordination of information relating to the preparation and control of operating/budgets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Analyze budget variances and prepare narratives on a monthly and quarterly basis
· Review, prepare, submit (and approve/disapprove as necessary) budget revisions, purchase requisitions, and/or journal vouchers to ensure budgetary and accounting compliance
· Participate in the drafting of the annual comprehensive budget book, including but not limited to drafting various sections as assigned, proof-reading, and copy editing
· Prepare, coordinate and upload budgets into Lawson for cost centers as assigned
· Participates in the preparation of budgets, supporting schedules/explanations, and in reconciling discrepancies between budget and actual information.
· Analyze and evaluate department work plans and make recommendations on budget requests
· Prepare quarterly forecast packages that detail proposed changes with respect to current budgets with justification
· Analyze and prepare financial reviews that assess the financial performance of potential third party vendors
· Assist Administrators in coordinating the use of cost center funds to achieve objectives.
· Review, audit & process vendor payments
· Assist with vendor audit confirmations.
· Prepare monthly expense accruals.
· Other financial duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
This position also requires a B.S. in Accounting or Finance, and a minimum of two to three years of experience in an accounting or finance environment. This position requires a thorough knowledge of financial analysis and budgeting, considerable knowledge of accounting principles and auditing techniques; working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems, application of spreadsheets, effective communication and analytical skills.
Salary Range: $65,000 – 68,000
