Overview

Overview:
Under the direction of the Director of Slot Operations and the Director of Table Games, the incumbent is responsible for managing the overall administrative functions of the properties’ Gaming Departments.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)
  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
  • Administrative support to recruitment, hiring and Gaming staff development.
  • Maintaining and updating the scheduling of the Gaming Department.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating Slots and Table Games gaming databases.
  • Responsible for tracking completion of Department Orientation & Post Orientation Training.
  • Responsible for various payroll related functions, IE. Tracking departmental staff’s Paid Time Off, including reviewing payroll reports for accuracy, and researching discrepancies.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining proper levels of equipment or other related materials needed to operate Casino Operations.
  • Responsible for special projects as requested by Senior leaders.
  • Responsible for generating (as needed) gaming operations reports.
  • Function as the point person for answering a wide variety of team member inquiries regarding general departmental policy & information.
  • Establishes, maintains and, when necessary, revises department filing system.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Gaming departments and Purchasing, HR, IT, Payroll.
  • Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education And /Or Experience Requirements:
    (Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
  • High School diploma or equivalent required along with five (5) or more years of similar experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with Email, Word processors, spreadsheet and presentation software
    Ie:
    MS Office, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with automated payroll systems preferred.
  • Experience with gaming systems software strongly preferred.
  • Ability to calculate figures, create and manipulate spreadsheets to produce reports.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information to executive management and regulating agencies.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and time schedules as required by business needs.
  • This position spends time on the Casino floor and is subject to varying levels of crowds and noise, and the severity of which depends upon guest volume.
  • Perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    Additional Requirements:
    (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc):
  • Must obtain and maintain valid licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Prior experience in the Gaming industry preferred.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
