Mechanical Engineer Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the engineering aspect of manufacturing and machining operations through a team of lead associates. This position maintains design control and supports project schedule, wood processing, and fabrication through project life cycle.
Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:
Interpret customer drawings and specifications with contractual requirements.
Condense high level drawings and models to piece mark drawings and adding material, symbols, call outs, etc.
Support planning, prototype hardware fabrication, and the assembly processes.
Participate in concurrent engineering design reviews.
Use manufacturing engineering practices including writing routings and manufacturing instructions.
Evaluate and approve drawings, routings, specifications, and other documents.
Mechanical Engineer Requirements:
Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent work
Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees.
Preferred experience designing custom doors.
Experience in 3D modeling software (SOLIDWORKS)
Preferred knowledge of fabrication and assembly practices, tools, and fixturing
Preferred product construction
