Essential Skills

  • Calculate dimensions or tolerances.
  • Determine method or sequences of production.
  • Set up, adjust, or operate machine tools.
  • Machine parts to specifications.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines.
  • Measure work to ensure conformance.
  • Dispose of scrap or waste material
  • Confer with engineering, quality, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel
  • Improve work environment through 5S program.
  • Improve work processes and procedures.
  • Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
  • Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
  • Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Dismantle machines or equipment, using hand tools or power tools to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where needed.
  • Install repaired parts into equipment or install new equipment.
  • Run jobs while taking care of normal maintenance of the machine center
  • Make necessary compensation changes during job run
