Senior Mechanical Engineer Job Description

• Manage Product Development roadmap, consulting with Operations and Engineering leadership, communicating available technologies, market research, and feasibility studies.
• Apply project management principles to oversee projects from ideation to launch, managing budgets, milestones, and issuing regular status reports.
• Lead a small team of product development and test engineers, delegating tasks, providing support, and ensuring team goals are met.
• Collaborate with clients and sister companies, fostering efficient project closure through communication, collaboration, learning, and teaching.

• Utilize broad mechanical and electrical engineering expertise encompassing various areas such as strength of materials, machine design, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics, employing tools like hand calculations, Mathcad, 3D modeling, and FEA, to drive projects to completion and create final documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
• 5 years of experience working with thermal systems and related industrial machinery including exposure to steel construction, piping and ducting, combustion systems, fans and pumps, electrical controls, etc.
• Strong CAD and related software skills
• Strong project engineering and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and deliver complex projects on schedule and within budget.
• Experience leading a small team toward a shared goal.
• Effective communication and inter-personal skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Initiative-taker with excellent communication and technical writing skills.
• Experience with ASME BPVC design, UL standards, and similar preferred.
