BASIC PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB SUMMARY: Provides customers with excellent customer service and quality food and beverage products in a Christ-centered, customer-centric environment. Focus is on back-of-the-house kitchen duties, operations management and leadership responsibilities; however, front-of-the-house duties are also required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensures kitchen and front-of-house operations and cleanliness are in accordance with Department of Public Health standards.
  • Takes the lead in establishing and training the highest standards of food handling and best practices for kitchen operations. This includes the handling of raw food and adherence to appropriate shelf-life standards.
  • Prepares and oversees the preparation of food and drink in accordance with established recipes and quality standards including proper serving temperature, appearance and portion size.
  • Manages all back of house ordering, which includes but not limited to food orders, chemical orders, etc.
  • Maintains kitchen equipment in good working order; ensures proper usage by staff and adherence to standard cleaning policies and schedules.
  • Maintains organization of kitchen supplies and food items.
  • Assists in training team members in kitchen duties and responsibilities.
  • Responsible for costing out all new food menu items and monitoring existing menu prices to maintain proper profit margins.
  • Clearly communicates knowledge about menu, product availability, pricing, ingredients and preparation techniques for all foods and beverages served.
  • Assists in general organization and daily operations.
  • Performs opening duties for Kitchen, beginning at 6AM each day.
  • Efficiently and accurately operates cash register including handling cash, credit card and other payment types in accordance with standard policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested by Café General Manager.
  • Attend and participate in all regular staff meetings, functions, retreats, training, etc. when requested by Café General Manager.
  • Support the Senior Pastor and all other church staff.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Prolonged periods of standing, pacing, reaching, and repeated tasks. Standing includes the ability to stand for 6 plus consecutive hours each day.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
