BASIC PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB SUMMARY: Specific to this role, is to focus on directing and leading 4th and 5th graders to spiritual growth and development. Other responsibilities and management include developing spiritual servant leaders for 4th and 5th grade. As part of the Children’s Ministry Team, plan, develop, organize, administer and evaluate specific programs and events annually for all children 1-5th grade.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee and develop a ministry for the spiritual development for 4th grade and 5th grade.
  • Manage curriculum, develop community through multiple avenues including programming and events.
  • Recruit, train and disciple 4th - 5th grade adult leaders.
  • Create an environment on Sunday mornings different from grades 1-3.
  • Provide a mission experience that 4th - 5th graders plan, execute and lead.
  • VBS responsibilities include: Collaborate in development of theme; train 100 Middle School students for leadership; Plan and execute mission project for 5th grade; Provide separate VBS program for 5th graders (VBS Extreme)
  • Teach 4th & 5th graders how to share their faith as well as how to become disciple makers.
  • Provide pastoral care to children and families, specifically those in 4th and 5th grade.
  • Participate in Gospel Presentations, Counseling, in a leadership role for Children’s Baptisms.
  • Manage Preteen Ministry Budget
  • Work with Children’s Team to provide support and leadership on all 4th and 5th grade Wednesday night Missions RAs and GAs.
  • Participate in development of mission trips and mission opportunities for children and their families.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Attend and participate in all regular ministry staff meetings, monthly church staff meetings, staff retreats, training, etc.
  • Support the Senior Pastor and all other church staff.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, seminary degree a plus.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Student or Children’s Ministry desired

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Ability to lift up and carry 50 or more pounds
  • Able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Physically able to work inside and outside in various weather conditions
