EO/AAThis position is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams which aid Radiologists and Providers in their diagnosis and/or treatment of patients. This position also assists providers in various ultrasound-guided procedures. • Ensures the appropriate exam is performed based on physician's orders and patient history.
• Verifies and enters/selects patient demographics.
• Provides accurate and consistent patient education and explanation of exam.
• Performs ultrasound examinations, tailoring exams based upon findings and most likely diagnosis.
• Updates patient logs and submit billing.
• Ensures operation of equipment and coordinates necessary maintenance.
• Assists with training of student sonographers, residents, and fellows.
• Assists physicians with invasive procedures.

QualificationsQualificationsLicenses Required

• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• One of the following
• Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with an Abdomen specialty (AB) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
• Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with an OB/GYN specialty (OB/GYN) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
• Current ARRT Registration for Sonography (S).
• Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.
