Job Description
The Accountant is responsible for overseeing the daily fiscal processes which includes reviewing and carrying out procedures to ensure compliance with approved accounting practices. The Accountant supports the mission, vision and values of the organization, and upholds and enforces the guidelines and policies of the organization and demonstrates values of teamwork, excellence, achievement and motivation in all personal interactions.
• Manages all aspects of the payroll processing cycle and conducts audits of payroll data to ensure accurate submission of all required government and tax filings.
• Audits employee benefits such as pension contributions, temporary disability and group term life premiums and leave accruals.
• Processes accounts payable. Ensures proper coding and approval for all expenditures.
• Supports the Controller in the monthly accounting cycle.
• Responsible for archive management system of Finance documents
• Meets with other departments as necessary to resolve issues
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
• Education: High school diploma or Certificate of Completion or equivalent.
• Experience: 5 years accounting training and work experience, including working knowledge of accounts receivable, invoicing, computerized billing, and cash/check/credit card handling.
• Clearances/Certification: 1) TB clearance; 2) Criminal background check, 3) Pre-employment drug testing, 4) Child Protective Service/Adult Protective Service check.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract (level 2 driver)
Preferred:
• Education: Associates degree in accounting
