A family-owned insurance company specializing in auto insurance is searching for a skilled HR Generalist to join their dynamic in sunny San Diego, CA! This role involves managing payroll, benefits, onboarding, offboarding, and employee relations for both the San Diego and Dallas, TX offices.

They are looking for someone with extensive experience in HR and payroll, particularly within California, who is comfortable with direct communication and can proactively handle payroll for over 200 employees.

Salary Range : $85, 000 - $100, 000 / year DOE

HR Generalist Requirements :

• 5 years of HR experience with payroll responsibilities
• Experience with California labor code
• Payroll experience with 100 employees
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
• Experience with Insure Soft and PayCom (strongly preferred)
• Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of HR experience
• Proficiency in PayCom payroll system is preferred
• Familiarity with Texas labor laws is preferred

HR Generalist Responsibilities :

• Manage payroll for 200 employees, processed semi-monthly
• Administer benefits, including managing broker relationships and setting up employee benefits
• Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes
• Coordinate with outsourced HR leave vendors and employment attorneys for leave of absence administration
• Ensure timely and accurate tax filings
• Handle workers'compensation and general liability insurance claims
• Support employee relations, collaborating closely with the CFO
• Assist with recruiting tasks, such as creating job descriptions, posting jobs, and conducting interviews
