NOTICE OF JOB OPENING:

for the position of Front Desk Receptionist/Director of First Impressions

POSTITION SUMMARY:

The Next Step Dance Studio Front Desk Receptionist plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer service within the dance studio environment. They are the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and callers, and they are responsible for maintaining a welcoming and organized front desk area.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer Service:
  • Greet clients and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor.
  • Answer phone calls and emails promptly and professionally, providing information about classes, schedules, and studio policies.
  • Assist clients with class registrations, payments, and inquiries about studio offerings.
  • Address customer concerns or complaints with empathy and professionalism, and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate client records and class schedules using studio management software.
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions securely and accurately, including processing payments and issuing receipts.
  • Coordinate with instructors to ensure smooth class transitions and manage studio resources effectively.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, organizing, and data entry as needed.
  • Facility Management:
  • Monitor the cleanliness and tidiness of the front desk area and studio lobby, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for clients.
  • Communicate with administrative staff to address facility issues promptly.
  • Communication and Coordination:
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, instructors, and studio management, relaying important information and updates as needed.
  • Coordinate with marketing and promotions team to distribute flyers, posters, or other promotional materials.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to plan and execute special events, workshops, or performances hosted by the studio.

QUALITIFCATIONS:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google, Band and studio management software (training provided if necessary).
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a similar environment.
  • Passion for children, dance, art, and fitness/

ABOUT THE NEXT STEP DANCE STUDIO:

Next Step Dance was started in 2008 by owner, Hillary McClintick, as a freelance business for choreography and training for teams and studio groups ages elementary – college throughout the state. In 2018 she opened a studio location in Springfield, OR.

Next Step Dance currently provides both recreational classes and competition teams for dancers ages 2-18 in multiple genres. We currently employ eight teachers and an office manager. The studio produces a variety of performances at events throughout the year. We specialize in dance productions, which incorporate the beautiful art of story-telling within dance!

We are committed to promoting life lessons through dance and to inspiring a love of dance that will last a lifetime regardless of talent or ability. Each dancer has been created by a loving God who makes each unique and special. We desire to create a welcoming atmosphere where high expectations and discipline are taught within a caring environment that nurture a dancer’s growth.

We offer the following genres/disciplines:

  • Pom
  • Hip Hop
  • Jazz
  • Contemporary
  • Funk
  • Musical Theater
  • Ballet Technique
  • Acrobatics & tumbling

COMPENSATION AND START DATE:

  • May/June/July/August 2024: Training
  • Employent begins with the following hours on August 26th

15 hours per week:

  • Monday 3:45pm – 6:30pm
  • Tuesday 3:45pm – 7:00pm
  • Wednesday 3:45pm – 7:00pm
  • Thursday 3:45pm – 7:00pm
  • Friday 3:45pm – 6:15pm

Scheduled Breaks:

  • December 22, 2024 - January 5, 2025
  • March 22, 2025 - March 30, 2025
  • June 15, 2025 - August 24, 2025
  • There is the opportunity to grow into additional hours or additional roles within the studio.
