FPW Media is Hiring a Videographer/Editor Near Springfield, OR

FPW Media is seeking innovative, talented, and passionate individuals to join our creative studio based in Springfield, Oregon. As a Videographer/Editor you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated crew of like-minded creatives on hundreds of projects of varying scope and scale. From high-impact social videos to powerful testimonials, feature-length documentaries, and broadcast ads, FPW Media’s Films Division produces vibrant content across the multimedia spectrum for our clients.

As an integral part of this crew your creativity and skills will be engaged throughout the entire content-creation process using state-of-the-art equipment: from pre-production planning, to on-set cinematography, editing of 8K RED raw footage, and other assigned duties.

Our ideal future crew member possesses a basic understanding and proficiency in film and photo theory, and its respective equipment; is eager to grow their skillset rapidly with immediate hands-on experience with industry-leading equipment and software; a penchant for narrative storytelling; a desire for traveling and doing new things; extreme adaptability; an eye for detail and organization; and a resolute belief in the importance of comradery and team spirit.

Education and Experience Expectations:

  • Minimum (2) years of commercial photography (including wedding and real estate) and editing experience, or (4) years of hobby experience

AND

  • Minimum (2) years of commercial videography (including wedding & real estate) and editing experience, or (4) years of hobby experience

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, possessing demonstrative video work

Essential Expectations:

Pre-Production

  • Develop shot lists, storyboards, and treatments
  • Location scout potential production sites
  • Source talent, props, and crew
  • Develop shooting schedules
  • Pull location permits and verify sUAS conflicts/restrictions*

Production

  • Working independently*, or with a crew: Operate bleeding-edge RED, Canon, and DJI cameras; gimbal stabilizers; and professional audio equipment
  • Coordinate and lead on-schedule productions at client sites or in our 3,500 sqft studio*
  • Interact with clients in a competent, professional manner
  • Follow standard set etiquette best-practices

Post-Production

  • Ingest, assemble, and edit RAW photo/video projects to a fine degree of polish
  • Color correct and grade footage
  • Repair, normalize, and master audio
  • Create basic motion graphics and titles
  • Exercise care and due regard in maintaining FPW organization standards
  • Collaborate with crew members and stakeholders to deliver fine-quality projects within schedule, budget, and scope
  • Adapt to new or changing software, plugins, and workflows

Schedule:

  • 8-hour routine office shifts
  • Up to 10-hour production shifts (varies)
  • Up to 15-hour shifts when including travel
  • Overtime

Travel Expectations

Depending on workload, frequent travel to client sites may be required. This includes intra-PNW driving and air travel across the USA. Travel may be required with short notice, with a minimum of 1-2 weeks. Travel frequently requires 1 overnight stay, and up to 5.

Core Competencies
FPW Media Films Division requires qualification/proficiency of varying degrees in the following:

  • NLE & Photo Editing: Must possess proficiency in Davinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere. Must possess a basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and After Effects.
  • Production: Must possess proficiency in framing and exposure; photo/video camera fundamentals (ISO, Aperture, Shutter speed, frame rate, etc.); and how to achieve a motivated image with a combination of the above.
  • Grip Skills: Must be able to set up and maintain camera & support gear, lighting equipment, audio equipment, and sets.
  • Set Etiquette: Possess a competent, professional, and safe appearance, attitude, and work ethic on-set
  • Time Management Skills: Utilize excellent time management and project management skills to consistently meet deadlines, prioritize tasks appropriately, and to communicate promptly if a task is not to be completed on time.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Must display the ability to effectively prioritize workload on multiple projects simultaneously and accept changes with short notice and tolerate frequent interruptions.
  • Critical Thinking Skills: Must display strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical capabilities when interacting with clients, managers, peers, and stakeholders.
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to listen carefully in order to accurately gather facts and figures from managers and stakeholders. Must also be able to clearly articulate the results of your work and present their findings in written reports.
  • Attention To Detail: Must pay strong attention to detail in order to be able to keep the information accurate and organized while utilizing skills and knowledge to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
  • Willingness To Learn: Must be willing to learn, improve and refine skills. One’s ability to receive and implement constructive criticism is paramount to their success in this role.
  • Computer Literacy: Must be able to use computer-based tools to work efficiently and effectively. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Google Suites or related software.

Desired Competencies

  • VFX: Experience with compositing and animation
  • 3D: Experience with modeling, rigging, texturing, and lighting
  • sUAS: Experience with the safe planning and operation of sUAS platforms for commercial work, and possesses an FAA Part 107 certificate
  • AI: Proficiency with AI tools & frameworks for content generation or enhancement, process improvement, and workload mitigation

Physical Requirements:
Work to be conducted primarily in-office, or otherwise at client locations. This position requires routine in-office presence during the workweek and infrequent weekend work. This position will require lifting large, bulky objects (up to 50lbs.) independently, or team-lifting (up to 100lbs) in short duration and distance; and long hours at a computer using a keyboard and mouse in addition to prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
