Robert Half is Hiring a HR Generalist Near Portage, WI

DescriptionWe are seeking a HR Generalist to join our team in Portage, Wisconsin. This role involves implementing and administering policies and programs in areas such as recruitment, employee learning and development, compensation, performance management, and EEO/affirmative action. This is a contract role that will require a strong understanding of federal and state regulations applicable to human resource areas.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate recruitment processes, including identifying recruitment sources, evaluating candidates, conducting interviews, and referring qualified candidates to appropriate staff members for further evaluation.
  • Assist with workers’ compensation and OSHA compliance programs, monitor the progress of employees with claims, assist with OSHA Logs and electronic submission, and prepare annual OSHA summary postings.
  • Ensure legal compliance with all federal and state regulations applicable to the human resource areas. Monitor human resource processes for compliance, post notices, maintain records, investigate and resolve employee complaints, and recommend changes necessary to achieve compliance.
  • Maintain all Human Resources related records, including separate file systems for personnel records, employment selection process records, affirmative action/equal employment related records, OSHA/worker’s compensation related records, records related to complaint investigations and employee performance issues.
  • Assist with all Human Resource functions in areas including but not limited to answering HR questions, benefit enrollment, entering and processing new hires, changes and termination information, conducting stay and exit interviews.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, addressing complaints, resolving problems.
  • Assist with learning and development for all employees, running reports, assigning affected training, and ensuring completion of assigned courses.
  • Maintain accurate employee information in HRIS system.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge in areas of responsibility by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, researching topics, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Possess a minimum of three years of experience in a HR Generalist role or similar
  • Demonstrated expertise in Employee Relations and Employee Relations Investigations
  • Proficiency in using UKG Pro software for HR management
  • Experience in handling Workers Compensation cases
  • Familiarity with OSHA Regulation and its application in the workplace
  • Skilled in Benefits Administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits
  • Proven experience in Hiring Processes, including recruitment, selection, and onboarding
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with employees and management
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
