Target Hospitality is Hiring a Chef I Near Dilley, TX

Chef I
Department: Kitchen
Reports To: Lodge Manager
Location: As assigned
Hours: Able to work 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off
Job Summary:
The Chef I will serve as a food industry professional responsible for ensuring the quality preparation and delivery of all meals within a high volume dining hall environment
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Foster a safe work environment that is in line with Target Lodging Policies and Procedures.
  • Comply with all state food safety rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to MSDS/Chemical Management standards for handling various cleaning chemicals.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, slicers, knives, skillets and deep fryers.
  • Prepare various meal items daily in accordance with the changing menu.
  • Understand the aesthetic requirements for food presentation and delivery.
  • Address the diverse needs of customers in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Cook-to-order food to the unique preferences of the customer.
  • Track meals using the meal scanning technology.
  • Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
  • Stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours or longer) with scheduled breaks
  • Short and long distance walking required
  • Use of stairs and step stools
  • Pushing/ pulling carts that weigh on average 50lbs
  • Operate kitchen machinery
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50lbs.
  • Frequently reaching above shoulders, waist to shoulders and below waste.
  • Perform repetitive movements at the wrist including side to side/ up or down and frequent grasping of an average of 10lbs with a maximum of 25lbs
  • Simple, power and fine finger manipulation for a duration of an average 12 hour shift
Employment Pre-Requisites:
  • 1-2 years of cooking experience in a food services environment required.
  • At least 1 year in a customer service role required.
  • 1-2 years Line Cook experience preferred.
  • High volume food preparation experience required.
  • Must meet pre-employment background check and urinalysis standards.
  • Must provide transportation to and from facility.
