People Architects is Hiring a Manager of Employee Relations Near Cleveland, OH

People Architects is proud to partner with Breakthrough Public Schools in their search for an Employee Relations Manager. Breakthrough’s Mission is to provide Cleveland area scholars with an education that empowers them to lead lives full of impact and opportunity.

Summary:

The Manager of Employee Relations will be charged with managing support and services for leaders and employees related to employment, employee relations, and leave management. This key position also leads the progressive discipline and corrective action programs while establishing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with key stakeholder groups. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports, builds, and maintains positive relationships with employees and leaders to improve employee satisfaction, retention, and productivity
  • Develops, recommends, and implements program objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Assists managers and supervisors in understanding and implementing company policies related to performance, discipline, and related topics
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues and conducts effective and thorough investigations as needed
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory complaints
  • Works with Third-Party Administrator on Workers’ Compensation
  • Oversees employee leaves of absences adhering to applicable laws and policies
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Employee Relations, Human Resources or related field required.
  • 4 years of professional human resource administration, including two years in employee relations preferred OR equivalent training, education or other experience SHRM-CP/SCP or HRCI PHR/SPHR strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google Suite
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal, cross-functional, and external parties effectively
  • Skilled in conducting research, compiling data, and preparing appropriate reports and documents
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
  • Thorough understanding of dispute resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
