Job Title : Front Desk Specialist - Contract to hire (3 OPENINGS)
Location : Chelmsford, MA
Employment Type : Full-time
Salary : $20-21 / hr. (flexible based on experience)
Hours : 40 hours / week, Monday-Friday (8-5)
Job Description :
As a Front Desk Specialist, you will play a crucial role as the initial point of contact for patients, ensuring a positive and efficient experience.
You will greet and direct patients visiting or calling the office, schedule appointments, verify registration information, collect payments, and interact frequently with physicians and staff.
This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities / Duties :
- Answering and triaging incoming calls
- Checking in patients for appointments, including verifying insurance information and referrals
- Maintaining patient charts and ensuring necessary documents are available
- Collecting copayments and outstanding balances, and reconciling payments at the end of the day
- Assisting with various administrative tasks as needed, including covering for colleagues' absences
- Performing closing tasks in the office on a rotating basis
- Adhering to HIPAA and other regulatory policies and procedures
Qualifications :
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum one year of medical office experience, with preference for healthcare receptionist experience
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and insurance policies
- Familiarity with medical office procedures, terminology, and electronic medical systems Athena / Centricity, Medi-Tech)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask effectively and problem-solve efficiently
- Proficiency with Windows-based software
