The South Course, also known as "The Monster," has hosted 17 Major Championships including U.S. Opens, U.S. Senior Opens, U.S. Women’s Amateur, U.S. Men’s Amateurs, Western Open, Ryder Cup, and PGA Championships. Renowned players such as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Ben Hogan have competed and won on the South Course. Oakland Hills Country Club is home to a challenging North Course, outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, paddle courts, and fitness centers for members.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Sous Chef at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, MI. The Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen, maintaining quality and consistency in food preparation, supervising kitchen staff, managing inventory and ordering supplies, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Sous Chef will work collaboratively with the culinary team to create and execute menus for club events and member dining.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and ingredients
- Ability to manage and supervise kitchen staff
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Creativity and ability to develop new menu items
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus
